arc/arrow is intended to become both an online/print resource promoting sustainable living/volunteering initiative.
the name itself originates from the all too oft-referenced quote of Martin Luther King Jr. that goes:
“The arc of the universe is long, but it bends towards justice”
the inspiration in this is that, while the arc may bend toward justice, its seems to do so painfully slowly, and is often interrupted by violent, haphazard spasms towards grave injustice.
it is here that the arrow gains significance. symbolically, an arrow relates a sense of velocity or speed towards an end. in this sense, amidst the realities of struggles faced by countless individuals globally, the arc of the universe needs to bend more meaningfully toward justice.
we as human beings must live and love more meaningfully for this to become reality.
this ‘website’ will serve to act as a reference point for those looking to become more active within their lives or their communities in a way that is more purposeful and less permissible of waste or ignorance.
in essence, the print component will be in the form a zine/DIY pamphlet that will be distributed monthly and focused upon topics pertaining to sustainability or solidarity.
please feel free to contact, because really, isn’t that the point?
